TGHBPSC: Twisted Out with Oyin

I love Oyin, so so much, as you all know. Since I've had this hair installed I have been trying different products to see which works best and will help preserve the hair, while keeping it manageable and soft! Well, I had a good experience with Wonder Curl, a not so good experience with Miss. Jessie's and a GREAT experience with Oyin---I'm not surprised by this at all. I love all of Oyin's products and use them religiously on my loose hair too.

I figured this post may be helpful for those of you looking to invest in the Kurly or Kinky Collections offered by N-Zo Studios.

The above look is a chunky twist out that was achieved on damp hair.

What I did:

Spritz Hair with Jojoba/Water mix
De-tangled a wide tooth comb followed by the tangle teezer
Smoothed about a quarter size of Oyin's "Shine and Define" onto the hair
Used tangle teezer to distribute evenly
Twisted each section which left me with about 8 chunky twists

The trick to this was taking the twists out after about 20 minutes, the hair wasn't all the way dry which gave me an even chunkier/defined/expanded twist out. Another trick is to take down the twists with a light oil to smooth and reduce frizz. I also did not manipulate the hair much. I literally just unraveled the twist one by one and allowed them to air dry. My end result was big, soft, FLUFFY hair. The twist out is 3 days old now and still looks great! I protect at night by tucking the hair gently in a satin bonnet. The goal is to make the hair style last with little to no manipulation. I refresh in the morning with my water mix, a light misting always brings life back to the hair.

Hi,

I purchased this hair after watching your reviews. It looks gorgeous. I just had it installed three days ago and I am having a very very difficult time taking care of it :(
I live outside of the US and many of the specialty product lines are not available to me. Could you do a review/give tips on how to keep this hair. Would REALLY appreciate it. Lots of others want to know how your journey is going.

Thanks! Stay blessed.

Can you please do a review of this hair? Likes and dislikes? I would consider buying it but I don't want to waste money on such expensive hair. Thank you! :]

Beautiful install! How tall are you Alex? I love the length of your install, but I'm 5'2" I'm trying to gauge what length would be good for me.

Thanks!
